China’s Bearing Export Landscape in 2026: Stable Volume, Rising Value, Driven by High-End Transformation and Emerging Markets

[Industry News] In 2026, China’s bearing exports have demonstrated strong resilience amid global economic uncertainty. According to the latest industry data, China’s bearing export volume reached 1.142 billion units in the first half of 2026, up 8.34% year-on-year — a net increase of 88 million units compared with the same period last year. Export revenue from bearing products continued to climb, with the industry as a whole showing a positive trend of “stable volume and improving quality.”

Steady Expansion in Export Scale, Structural Rise in Average Prices

Cumulative data shows that from January to May 2026, China’s bearing exports reached 357,000 tons, with an export value of approximately $2.11 billion, both up 1.4% year-on-year. Industry research institutions forecast that China’s total bearing export value is expected to exceed $12 billion in 2026, with an export volume of about 280,000 tons. The average export price is projected to rise to $42,900 per ton, up 11.4% compared with 2020, reflecting continued optimization of the product mix and steadily increasing technological content.

Notably, high-end bearing exports have been particularly strong. For plain bearings, for example, the average export price rose 7.72% year-on-year in 2025, while export value increased 7.42%. Some industrial clusters, such as Guantao in Hebei Province, have seen their micro and small bearings enter high-end sectors including new energy vehicles and intelligent robots. Export unit prices have jumped from 1 RMB to 3–5 RMB, with added value increasing more than sixfold. In Q1 2026, Guantao’s bearing export value surged 30% year-on-year.

Emerging Markets on the Rise, ASEAN Becomes a New Growth Engine

In terms of export destinations, Southeast Asia is emerging as a core driver of China’s bearing export growth. Benefiting from continued tariff reductions under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the rapid development of manufacturing in Southeast Asia, China’s bearing exports to ASEAN are expected to maintain a year-on-year growth rate of 8%–10% in 2026. The Indian market has also performed prominently, ranking among the top import destinations. Meanwhile, an increasing number of Chinese bearing companies are accelerating their “China + N” globalization strategy, establishing production bases in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia to get closer to end markets and navigate trade barriers.

Challenges and Opportunities Coexist, High-End Transformation Is Key

Despite the overall positive export outlook, the industry still faces multiple challenges: intensifying global trade frictions, geopolitical uncertainty, and homogeneous competition in low-end products that has put pressure on unit prices in some categories. Data shows that the average export price of some low-end general-purpose bearings has declined significantly, with growth driven mainly by volume — a “price-for-volume” model that is becoming unsustainable.

In response, industry experts point out that bearing export companies should accelerate their transformation toward high-precision, high-reliability, and high-value-added products, with a focus on high-growth sectors such as new energy vehicle electric drivetrains, industrial robots, wind power equipment, and medical devices. At the same time, companies should enhance brand premium and customer loyalty through independent websites, overseas warehouses, and localized services.
