These fluid film bearings rely on a lubricating oil film for support and lubrication. They use the hydrodynamic effect generated by journal rotation to form a uniform oil film between the shaft and the bearing shell. The oil film completely separates the friction pairs, delivering smooth operation with near-zero wear.
We use high-tin aluminum alloy or babbitt metal as the bearing shell material. The bearing surface features wedge-shaped oil grooves and inlet holes to guide lubricating oil into a stable pressure field. Precision machining and dynamic balancing ensure the bearings handle high speeds and heavy loads reliably.
Fluid film bearings work widely in industrial equipment like steam turbines, large fans, and compressors. They replace traditional rolling bearings and perform better in high-speed, low-vibration applications. They serve as the core support components for large rotating machinery.
